Jesse Rogers Cache

We saw that a geocache had been hidden in the Jesse Rogers Cemetery in Mary Esther and we wanted to find it.

I’ve been there before – it’s a beautiful cemetery right on the water with lots of old oak trees.

The directions tell us we have to find 2 separate graves and get the birth year from one grave and the death year from another, plug those numbers in as the last North and West coordinates and that will take us to the cache.

After wandering around a bit we located both graves, got the coordinates and then ended up in the far corner of the cemetery by the water.

We hunted for a minute and then the Youngest Island Boy spotted the cache in a hollow tree.

I'm so glad boys don't mind sticking their hands in holes like that!

I love wandering through this cemetery. It looks like such a beautiful place to be buried.
