The Nothin Betta Than A Hog had to be hidden at Hog's Breath Saloon - one of my favorite places to eat and play.
It was starting to get dark when we arrived but the GPS and the clue took us to the wooden deck out behind Hog’s Breath.
The clue said "Get Low" so we assumed it would be under the deck.
The deck is about 4 feet off the ground so we crawled around underneath for a while not finding anything.
The parking lot was full of Muggles but we just pretended to be invisible.
Until the manager came over to ask us if we needed help.
He had come out to his car and saw us hunting under the deck and walked over to ask if we had lost something.
We started telling him I had lost a bracelet and then the Island King saw his manager shirt and decided to tell him the truth.
The guy had never heard of Geocaching so we explained a little and showed him the GPS and the cache info print out. He laughed and said he'd like to help us look for what we were hunting but he can see that we have more information than he does.
He seemed ok with the idea of the cache being there and then went back inside.
It was really getting dark by now and we just didn’t see it so we called it a night.
I think we’ll find this one with no trouble if we are there when there is good light. The thing has to be stuck on the underside of that deck.
Not long after we stopped by again one afternoon and sure enough the cache was a film canister attached with Velcro to the underside of the gazebo.
We just needed better light to see it.Labels: Staying
