Uncle Update

Thank you all so much for the prayers you've said for the Island King's uncle.
And those prayers are working too!

He's still in ICU but they've been able to stop the bleeding and now believe that the damage to his liver and kidneys isn't quite as bad as they first thought.

He will have to have dialysis 3 days a week for the rest of his life but they've now said that he could possibly be a candidate for a liver transplant in 7 months.

He's still in ICU and will be there for another week. They will be putting a shunt in for the dialysis within the next few days and if he does well with that he'll move out to the floor and then may get to go home in about 2 weeks.

He's not out of the woods yet but his prognosis is looking better.

The most remarkable change is his attitude. He knows that his quality of life will never be the same and he knows that his life expectancy is much shorter than he'd like it to be but he seems to have made peace with what time he does have left.

He also wanted me to thank all of you for the prayers you've said for him. I think it helps to know that he's got the power of prayer behind him.
I know it helps me.

Thanks again - I couldn't ask for a better group of friends!
