I was in the backyard the other day and was surprised to see that a pair of house sparrows have moved into an old, decrepit birdhouse in the tree next to the patio.
I have been meaning to take it down and refurb it but they've moved in and seem to like it the way it is.
While I was watching this pair I noticed a lone female in an even older birdhouse we have on our fence.
I never saw a male around her so I don't know if he was just out and about or if she was alone and waiting for one to come along.
I was surprised that Jake didn't bark at them but he seemed happy to just stand still and soak up the sun.
