It's been a while since I've participated in the Round Robin Photo Challenge but when I read that the challenge for this week was "In Flight" I knew exactly what I wanted to shoot.
This Great Blue Heron let me walk up close to him but after checking me out for a minute he decided to move on to greener pastures - or bluer lakes in this case.
Heron's are beautiful birds but there is a moment when they first take flight that they are all skinny legs and giant wings.
Then the moment passes as they glide magestically through the sky.
Too bad my battery died as he soared gracefully overhead LOL
