Winterfest in Pensacola

My Dad called the other day to tell me about Winterfest in Pensacola. They shut down the main street downtown, decorate everything and then open the street to vendors and Christmas characters, music and dancing.

And they have the Christmas Trolley Performance Tour – which Dad wanted to take all of us on as part of our Christmas gift.

He also invited my sister and her family, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends, so we had a large group.

We wandered around for a bit before our turn on the Trolley and then we were off on our tour.

The conductor sang and entertained us as we drove slowly around downtown, enjoying the decorations and on each corner a different Christmas character got on and entertained us.

Ebenezer Scrooge, Rudolph, Mrs. Clause, The Grinch and many more.

At each stop people were performing skits to go along with the character that was on the bus and the entire ride was amazing!

Singing and acting, beautiful sets – it was absolutely wonderful.

For me, the highlight of the ride was when Elvis got on.

He sang and gyrated up and down the aisle of the Trolley and then stopped next to the Island Girl and stuck his mike in her face, wanting her to sing the next line of the song.

The poor girl froze like a deer in headlights - which was priceless.

Then he gyrated over to my sister and asked her to dance.

The look on her face was even better but she stood up and danced with him.

The ride lasted an hour and then when it was over we were led to the North Pole where we danced with Reindeer.

We had SO much fun and are already planning next year's trip.

If you have a chance to get to Pensacola during Winterfest you won't regret it.

Thanks, Dad, for the amazing gift and the wonderful evening with our family and friends.
