We don't have snow or ice but the snakes do hibernate and I see a lot less of them in the winter. As for gators - well we can avoid them LOL

Island Rider,
AAAGGHH! A nest inside is my worst nightmare. I wouldn't feel silly - 6" or 6' a snake is a snake LOL

Charish,
Welcome back! I've been wondering about you. I'll head over to your blog in the morning and catch up.
Jake is a Fiest which is a miniature rat terrier. They're bred in Louisiana as squirell hunting dogs. He's little - about 4 pounds but he's a good hunting dog!Sandcastle Mommahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11909850898687059507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6156496346598841450.post-23288301363874548152008-10-22T14:22:00.000-05:002008-10-22T14:22:00.000-05:00Hello my friend. We had to call a guy from another office to come over and get him. I felt so silly. He was all of six inches long. Now, we are all wigged out thinking there is a nest of them somewhere in there.Island Riderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04338707720934732800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6156496346598841450.post-67038483528502065492008-10-22T07:33:00.000-05:002008-10-22T07:33:00.000-05:00I have a huge fear of snakes too. And I agree skinks are snakes. :) But isn't it amazing how we're able to calm our fear momentarily while behind the camera? :)

I'm ok in the woods, on trails, but I have huge panic attacks if alone in tall grass, and alone can mean that hubs is fifty feet ahead. My biggest fear is stepping on one and I think that comes from my childhood of stepping on a harmless black snake - nothing happened except it squirmed and I screamed and now I have a fear of doing it again. And in my biggest fantasies the snake gets between my heel and my croc and ooooooo it's just too bad!

Luckily, here in Wisconsin we have no poisonous snakes except near the Mississippi River. But still, I prefer the woods when they're covered with snow. I want to come and hike in Florida but I'm really scared of the whole snake and gator thing.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13219366045767828564noreply@blogger.com
