I had never heard of the Twilight books until I saw the coverage on the news this week. I'll be picking up the first one ASAP. Kudos to you for encouraging your daughter to be excited about reading!MyMaracashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04277857661670053625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6156496346598841450.post-49484767452798667392008-08-05T23:08:00.000-05:002008-08-05T23:08:00.000-05:00I have always wondered if people actually went to ...I have always wondered if people actually went to these late night releases. I should go sometime, I bet it would be fun, but nah, I live to stay in the house when it's dark, you know, so no vampires get me. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13219366045767828564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6156496346598841450.post-13038174278535407072008-08-04T22:43:00.000-05:002008-08-04T22:43:00.000-05:00Island Rider, I'm pretty good about keeping track ...Island Rider,
I'm pretty good about keeping track of what she reads but she reads SO much that it's hard to keep up with her. I asked her if I'd approved this series and she said I did so I must have LOL I love to read so she and I discuss books alot. I think that's one reason I'm comfortable with what she reads. If you can tell your mom about it - it can't be that bad LOL

Sarah,
I've always liked vampire books too so she suggested I read the series. I'm starting the first one tonight.

I can't wait to see your pics!

Kiva,
It was fun and I'm like you - there's nothing better than kids getting excited about reading. I personally think schools should allot more time just for reading - and then let them pick what they're interested in to read.
I love the idea of the Red Cross donations! There were so many people there that if even half had donated the blood mobile would be sloshing all the way to the bank.Sandcastle Mommahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11909850898687059507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6156496346598841450.post-4812825163107645082008-08-04T22:37:00.000-05:002008-08-04T22:37:00.000-05:00It's so great to see kids getting excited over boo...It's so great to see kids getting excited over books -- Harry Potter and now the Twilight series. (Although between us, I prefer Harry... Bella is a bit of a whiner). I would have loved to have seen the costumes. Too bad Island Girl wouldn't let you take photos. At Powell's in Portland, they had a Bella's ball where they encouraged kids to wear the prom costume. They also had the option of donating blood to the Red Cross. Those that donated got priority in the line when the book went on sale. Too cool.Kivahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01171025882133782540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6156496346598841450.post-78456508477166127702008-08-04T17:25:00.000-05:002008-08-04T17:25:00.000-05:00We have read them. wiating on ours to be delivered...We have read them. wiating on ours to be delivered. I myself have read them but I love vampire books. I want to know what she is reading so I read the books and then figurre out if it is ok for her to read.
Derby Pictures and video coming really soon. waiting for it to finish loading now.charishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09819140616833395500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6156496346598841450.post-28696671141647101142008-08-04T13:01:00.000-05:002008-08-04T13:01:00.000-05:00My niece who is the same age as your daughter (goi...My niece who is the same age as your daughter (going into first year of High School) was at the bookstore here in our town for their midnight release as well. Sounds similar. Even down to how my sister felt about having to hang out in the bookstore at midnight. :0) I do not know anything about the book, but my sister is really strict about what her kids read, so it must be okay.Island Riderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04338707720934732800noreply@blogger.com
