You might be able to get a good picture then - when you can follow their calls to find them.
Good luck but be careful - the Great Horned Owl hunt can be really addicting LOLSandcastle Mommahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11909850898687059507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6156496346598841450.post-4690413509393711452008-12-12T09:05:00.000-06:002008-12-12T09:05:00.000-06:00Guess what, for several months we have heard and c...Guess what, for several months we have heard and caught glimpses of what we thought, by the sound, might be a barn owl. Well last night I got real good visual and several real blurry bad photos of what the mystery owl is. It is a Great Horned Owl - I was surprised by this - but the sounds coincides with a juvenal or maybe a female. It never hoots, never.

It comes over our house often so hopefull I'll be able to get better photos soon - but then again it's taken me months to even get a good view of it.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13219366045767828564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6156496346598841450.post-52991333551382381522008-12-11T22:08:00.000-06:002008-12-11T22:08:00.000-06:00That is indeed a sad and outrageous story. If I were the occupants of that mausoleum, I'd haunt their pants off.

I've just caught up on the owl adventures, and it sounds like you two are having such a good time out there hunting for him. I've only seen a wild owl once, as it swooped through the headlights on a dark dirt road. Even though it was only a three-second experience, I've always remembered it with a sense of magic and awe. I hope you get some great shots!MyMaracashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04277857661670053625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6156496346598841450.post-80421009482537341162008-12-11T09:07:00.000-06:002008-12-11T09:07:00.000-06:00I agree that it's horrible! It seems stupid that the college never actually used the property!

I don't have a problem with you guys though, hey, you gotta take those pics and pay those bills. I get it. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13219366045767828564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6156496346598841450.post-91072576885306609532008-12-11T08:08:00.000-06:002008-12-11T08:08:00.000-06:00Tracy,It is sad and I really wish we could have to...Tracy,
It is sad and I really wish we could have told the man that we wouldn't shoot the photos. Unfortunately we have kids to feed and Christmas is coming so here we are.

Tony,
I think the fact that it's the college that sold the property is the saddest fact of all. You'd hope a college would be above carpetbagging but obviously not.Sandcastle Mommahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11909850898687059507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6156496346598841450.post-32258711181295337422008-12-11T07:33:00.000-06:002008-12-11T07:33:00.000-06:00In the 67 years I have lived in Florida I have see...In the 67 years I have lived in Florida I have seen this happen to many times. To much greed-all for a wrinkled dollar bill. To bad it's a college doing it-seems they are the "carpetbaggers"!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6156496346598841450.post-20716513292573222632008-12-11T06:51:00.000-06:002008-12-11T06:51:00.000-06:00Oh, how sad!
