We've been wanting a boat for years now and even though we have
kayaks they just aren't the same.
I'm an avid Craigslist watcher and have been looking at boats for
years now but on Friday I saw one I really liked and after looking at
the ad I realized the boat belonged to a man the Island King knows.
The boat was reasonably priced and I looked at the ad for awhile,
sighed and went back to real life.
Friday night the Island King comes in and tells me that he found
an awesome boat on Craigslist and that we should buy it.
We have really different ideas about things so I was shocked when
he pulled up the ad for the same boat I'd been looking at earlier.
I was even more shocked when he said “We're going to buy it in
the morning.”
Once I realized he was serious we did a lot of thinking and on
Saturday morning he called the man and told him we'd take it.
The boat was 5 minutes from my house but the owner was an hour
away and wouldn't be back until Sunday.
We've waited this long – I guess one more day won't kill us.
Sunday came and poof we were the proud owners of this...

She's a 17' Cape Horn with a 115 Suzuki outboard and is in really
good condition. The owner is a marine mechanic and this was his
personal boat. He's trading up so we feel like we're getting a motor
that's been properly cared for.
The weather was kind of gloomy but we put her in the water anyway.

We decided to take a sunset ride through the harbor so around the point and into the harbor we went.

Isn't this sailboat gorgeous?

We had a houseboat when I was a kid but not quite like this one.

We watched the day end and then cruised home with giant grins on our faces.

I can't tell you how excited about having a boat I am. It's been a
long time since I sold our last one and this one is a much better
boat.
Now all we have to do is figure out how to make money to pay for the boat and still have time to enjoy the boat. Labels: Done
